Sonja Wetzler has been promoted to senior vice president, Little Rock regional manager at Community Insurance, a subsidiary of First Community Bank. Wetzler’s promotion was announced by Anthony Clark, president of Community Insurance.
“Sonja has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a strong commitment to serving our customers throughout her career,” said Clark. “Her extensive experience and dedication to our mission make her the ideal person to lead our Little Rock region as we continue to grow and expand our reach.”
Wetzler joined First Community Bank in 2013 and brings more than a decade of experience in the insurance industry. She has been a licensed property and casualty agent since 2012 and currently holds the certified insurance service representative (CISR) and certified professional insurance agent (CPIA) designations.
Her previous roles with the company include insurance agent/customer service representative from 2013 to 2018, commercial lines supervisor from 2018 to 2020, assistant vice president, commercial lines supervisor from 2020 to 2022, and vice president, commercial lines supervisor from 2022 to 2025.
“I’m honored to take on this new role and continue contributing to the success of Community Insurance,” said Wetzler. “We have an incredible team of people, and I look forward to working with them to build on our achievements and pursue new growth opportunities.”
Wetzler holds a business degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She and her husband, Wade, enjoy golfing and spending time on Greers Ferry Lake with family and friends. Wetzler is also proud to be part of a company that supports charitable causes, including Ronald McDonald House and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Wetzler is at the First Community Bank Chenal branch, which is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with drive-through banking services available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Both the lobby and drive-through are also open on Saturdays for banking from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In addition to the Chenal location, First Community Bank also operates a branch on Kavanaugh Boulevard in Little Rock.
