First Community Bank employees came together in September to support Arkansas Children’s Hospital during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Through their collective efforts, employees raised $9,273.92, and the bank contributed an additional $4,726.08, resulting in a total donation of $14,000 to benefit the hospital’s cancer unit.

“The generosity and commitment of our employees reflect the values we stand for at First Community Bank,” said Boris Dover, president and chief operating officer. “We are proud to contribute to an organization that provides life-changing care to children and their families.”

The bank’s childhood cancer awareness committee, consisting of Pat Rutherford, Wendy Hurt, Taylor Williams, Michele Melton, Amanda Teague, Lindy Hopper, Brittney Scarbrough, Karen Dyess, and Mary Henderson, led the initiative. They organized a variety of events throughout the month, including Blue Jean Fridays, a coins-for-cancer contest, and a bake sale with a silent auction.
