First Community Bank is proud to announce that it has been recognized as the Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Arkansas Chapter. This prestigious honor will be formally presented at the inaugural Festival of Philanthropy on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the Robinson Center & DoubleTree Hotel in Little Rock.
The Festival of Philanthropy, which combines AFP Arkansas’s 42nd annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) awards luncheon with a professional development conference, celebrates Arkansas’s philanthropic spirit by highlighting individuals and organizations that have made a significant impact in the state. This year, First Community Bank has been acknowledged for its ongoing commitment to philanthropy, community support, and partnerships with local nonprofits.
First Community Bank was nominated for this award by the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches, a valued nonprofit partner dedicated to providing a safe, healthy environment for youth in need. The bank’s support for this and other community initiatives exemplifies its mission to make a positive difference in the communities it serves.
“We are deeply honored to be recognized by the AFP Arkansas Chapter as the Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation,” said Boris Dover, president and chief operating officer of First Community Bank. “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team, who are committed to giving back and making a meaningful impact in our communities. Our partnership with the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches is just one example of how we strive to support and uplift those around us.”
The Festival of Philanthropy promises to be a dynamic event featuring keynote speakers, presentations, and networking opportunities aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation in the nonprofit sector. Registration for the event is now open, and sponsorships are available. Proceeds from the event will support need-based scholarships, training for fundraising professionals, and philanthropy education and outreach throughout Arkansas.
Since 1981, the Arkansas Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals has promoted its members’ professional development and career advancement through educational programming and a network of professional resources that help generate philanthropic support for organizations throughout the state.
