FIRST COMMUNITY BANK NAMES BARNES CHIEF CREDIT OFFICER

First Community Bank has promoted Michael Barnes to senior vice president, chief credit officer.

“I am honored to step into this role and continue serving our customers and communities,” said Barnes. “First Community Bank has always prioritized strong relationships and sound financial solutions, and I look forward to upholding those values as senior vice president, chief credit officer. This new opportunity allows me to build on the strong foundation of our credit culture while working alongside an exceptional team to support the bank’s continued growth.”

Barnes has been with First Community Bank since January 2010, beginning his career in the credit department. Over the years, he has held various leadership positions, including credit officer, vice president of credit analysis, and most recently, senior vice president of commercial lending. In his new role, he will oversee loan operations and work closely with the chief lending officer to manage and monitor asset quality.

“Michael’s experience, leadership, and commitment to our customers make him an excellent fit for this position,” said Boris Dover, president and chief operating officer of First Community Bank. “His dedication to maintaining the bank’s strong credit culture will continue to support our mission of helping individuals and businesses succeed.”

Barnes earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a banking concentration from Arkansas State University in 2004. He later completed his Master of Business Administration at Arkansas State University in 2013 and graduated from the Paul W. Barret Jr. School of Banking that same year. With 15 years of experience in the banking industry, Barnes is well-versed in credit administration, commercial lending, and financial analysis.

Active in the community, Barnes is passionate about supporting local initiatives. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing and traveling. He and his wife have one daughter, two stepdaughters, and three dogs.

The lobby at First Community Bank’s Batesville headquarters, located at 1325 Harrison Street, operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The drive-through is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Fridays and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Additional Batesville branches include the downtown location at 301 E. Main Street, the Eagle Mountain branch at 3 Eagle Mountain Boulevard, and the Southside branch at 1 Allen Chapel Road, ensuring convenient access across the community.
