First Community Bank recently hosted Lead. With. Purpose., a leadership development event held on Friday, October 3, at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB) in Independence Hall. Presented by First Community Bank, the event was designed to inspire and equip leaders to grow with intention, both professionally and personally and served as another example of the bank’s continued commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.
The event was well attended by a diverse group of community leaders, business owners, and decision-makers from across Arkansas, including representation not only from Batesville but from communities all throughout the state.
The morning keynote was delivered by Mark Miller, bestselling author and retired vice president of high-performance leadership at Chick-fil-A ®. Miller’s session, based on his acclaimed book Smart Leadership, challenged participants to make intentional, “SMART” choices that elevate their influence, energy, and impact as leaders.
Following the morning session, guests enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Debbie Jones and her team from Colton’s Steak House & Grill ™, provided courtesy of First Community Bank. The meal offered a welcome opportunity for networking and fellowship among attendees.
The afternoon featured a keynote presentation by Randy Gravitt, CEO of Lead Every Day, author, speaker, and executive coach. Gravitt’s message, inspired by his book Winning Begins at Home, encouraged leaders to cultivate success not only in the workplace but also within their homes and personal lives.
Attendees received complimentary copies of Lead Every Day, co-authored by both Miller and Gravitt, along with Gravitt’s Winning Begins at Home, as a gift from First Community Bank to continue their leadership journey beyond the event.
Danita High, senior vice president of culture and employee development for First Community Bank, said the event reflected one of the bank’s ongoing strategic priorities - developing leaders at every level.
“This event was a wonderful opportunity to pour into our employees, customers, and community members who lead with heart and purpose,” said High. “At First Community Bank, we believe that strong communities are built by strong leaders, and it was inspiring to see so many people come together, eager to learn and grow.”
The Lead. With. Purpose. event aligns with First Community Bank’s 2025 strategic goal to develop and grow leaders, underscoring the bank’s investment in people and progress across its footprint.
