How to find Zelle® in your First Community Bank app:


Log in and press the + at the bottom of the screen. Press the Zelle® Icon button. If this is your first time using Zelle®, enter your U.S. mobile number or email address to get started.

Select someone from your mobile device's contacts (or add a trusted recipient's email address or U.S. mobile phone number), add the amount you'd like to send and an optional memo. Review, then hit "Send."

1. What is Zelle?


Zelle is a fast, safe and easy way to send money directly between almost any bank accounts in the U.S., typically within minutes1 . With just an email address or U.S. mobile phone number, you can send money to people you trust, regardless of where they bank2

Who can I send money to with Zelle?

You can send money to friends, family and others you trust 2


Since money is sent directly from your bank account to another person’s bank account within minutes1, it’s important to only send money to people you trust, and always ensure you’ve used the correct email address or U.S. mobile number. 



3. How do I use Zelle?


You can send, request, or receive money with Zelle. To get started, log into First Community Bank’s mobile app and select “Send Money with Zelle®”. Enter your email address or U.S. mobile phone number, receive a one-time verification code, enter it, accept terms and conditions, and you’re ready to start sending and receiving with Zelle.




To send money using Zelle, simply select someone from your mobile device’s contacts (or add a trusted recipient’s email address or U.S. mobile phone number), add the amount you’d like to send and an optional note, review, then hit “Send.” In most cases, the money is available to your recipient in minutes1




To request money using Zelle, choose “Request,” select the individual from whom you’d like to request money, enter the amount you’d like to request, include an optional note, review and hit “Request”3. To receive money, just share your enrolled email address or U.S. mobile phone number with a friend and ask them to send you money with Zelle.  


4. Someone sent me money with Zelle, how do I receive it?


If you have already enrolled with Zelle, you do not need to take any further action. The money will move directly into your bank account, typically within minutes1.
If you have not yet enrolled with Zelle, follow these steps:


  1. Click on the link provided in the payment notification you received via email or text message.
  2. Select First Community Bank.
  3. Follow the instructions provided on the page to enroll and receive your payment. Pay attention to the email address or U.S. mobile number where you received the payment notification - you should enroll with Zelle using that email address or U.S. mobile number to ensure you receive your money. 

5. What types of payments can I make with Zelle?


Zelle is a great way to send money to family, friends, and people you are familiar with such as your personal trainer, babysitter or neighbor2
 
Since money is sent directly from your bank account to another person’s bank account within minutes1, Zelle should only be used to send money to friends, family and others you trust.

Neither First Community Bank nor Zelle offers a protection program for any authorized payments made with Zelle – for example, if you do not receive the item you paid for or the item is not as described or as you expected.



6. Are there any fees to send money using Zelle?


First Community Bank does not charge any fees to use Zelle4



7. How do I get started?


It’s easy — Zelle is already available within First Community Bank’s mobile banking app! Check our app and follow a few simple steps to enroll with Zelle today. 



8. What if I want to send money to someone whose bank doesn’t offer Zelle?


You can find a full list of participating banks and credit unions live with Zelle here.

If your recipient’s bank isn’t on the list, don’t worry! The list of participating financial institutions is always growing, and your recipient can still use Zelle by downloading the Zelle app for Android and iOS. 

To enroll with the Zelle app, your recipient will enter their basic contact information, an email address and U.S. mobile number, and a Visa® or Mastercard® debit card with a U.S. based account (does not include U.S. territories). Zelle does not accept debit cards associated with international deposit accounts or any credit cards.



9. How does Zelle work?


When you enroll with Zelle through the First Community Bank app, your name, the name of your bank, and the email address or U.S. mobile number you enrolled is shared with Zelle (no sensitive account details are shared – those stay with First Community Bank). When someone sends money to your enrolled email address or U.S. mobile number, Zelle looks up the email address or mobile number in its “directory” and notifies First Community Bank of the incoming payment. First Community Bank then directs the payment into your bank account, all while keeping your sensitive account details private.


10. Can I use Zelle internationally?


In order to use Zelle, the sender and recipient’s bank accounts must be based in the U.S.


11. Can I cancel a payment?


If your recipient has not yet enrolled with Zelle, the payment will remain pending and the money will not move from your account. If the recipient does not enroll within 14 days, the payment will expire, and the transaction will need to be made again. 

If the person you sent money to has already enrolled with Zelle, the money is sent directly to their bank account and cannot be canceled. This is why it’s important to only send money to people you trust, and always ensure you’ve used the correct email address or U.S. mobile number when sending money. 

If you sent money to the wrong person, we recommend contacting the recipient and requesting the money back. If you aren’t able to get your money back, please call us at 1-888-780-8391 so we can help you.


12. How long does it take to receive money with Zelle?


Money sent with Zelle is typically available to an enrolled recipient within minutes1.
 
If you send money to someone who isn’t enrolled with Zelle, they will receive a notification prompting them to enroll. After enrollment, the money will move directly to your recipient’s account, typically within minutes1.

If your payment is pending, we recommend confirming that the person you sent money to has enrolled with Zelle and that you entered the correct email address or U.S. mobile phone number.

If you’re waiting to receive money, you should check to see if you’ve received a payment notification via email or text message. If you haven’t received a payment notification, we recommend following up with the sender to confirm they entered the correct email address or U.S. mobile phone number.

13. Will the person I send money to be notified?


Yes! They will receive a notification via email or text message.


14. Is my information secure?


Keeping your money and information safe is a top priority for First Community Bank. When you use Zelle within our mobile app, your information is protected with the same technology we use to keep your bank account safe.


15. I’m unsure about using Zelle to pay someone I don’t know. What should I do?


If you don’t know the person, or aren’t sure you will get what you paid for (for example, items bought from an online bidding or sales site), you should not use Zelle for these types of transactions.

These transactions are potentially high risk (just like sending cash to a person you don’t know is high risk). Neither First Community Bank nor Zelle offers a protection program for any authorized payments made with Zelle – for example, if you do not receive the item you paid for or the item is not as described or as you expected. 


16. What if I get an error message when I try to enroll an email address or U.S. mobile number?


Your email address or U.S. mobile phone number may already be enrolled with Zelle at another bank or credit union. Call our customer support team and ask them to move your email address or U.S. mobile phone number to First Community Bank so you can use it for Zelle

Once customer support moves your email address or U.S. mobile phone number, it will be connected to your First Community Bank account so you can start sending and receiving money with Zelle through the First Community Bank mobile banking app. Please call First Community Bank customer support toll-free at 1-888-780-8391 for help.

Overdraft Protection applies to all transactions and may help prevent overdrafts by automatically transferring funds to your checking account from another account, or Line of Credit or Loan Reserve you may have at First Community Bank for a fee or finance charge. Overdraft Privilege allows you to overdraw your account up to the disclosed limit for a fee to pay a transaction. Even if you have Overdraft Protection, Overdraft Privilege is still available as secondary coverage if the other protection source is exhausted. WHAT ELSE YOU SHOULD KNOW


  •  A link to another account or Line of Credit or Loan Reserve may be less expensive than an overdraft. A single larger overdraft will result in one fee, instead of multiple smaller overdrafts. Use our mobile, internet, and telephone banking services to track your balance. For financial education resources, please visit www.mymoney.gov.

  •  The $32 Overdraft Fee that is charged if you overdraw your account is the same fee that is charged if an item is returned as unpaid. If multiple items overdraw your account on the same day, each item will be assessed an appropriate Overdraft Fee or a Returned Item Fee of $32. All fees and charges will be included as part of the Overdraft Privilege limit amount. Your account may become overdrawn more than the Overdraft Privilege limit amount because of a fee.

  • For consumer accounts, there is a limit of 4 Overdraft Fees ($128) per day we will charge you for overdrawing your account. We will not charge you a fee if your account is overdrawn less than $10 on any given business day and/or we will not charge you a fee if the item presented is less than $5. These exceptions do not apply to business accounts.

  • Recipients of federal or state benefits payments who do not wish us to deduct the amount overdrawn and the Overdraft Fee from funds that you deposit or that are deposited into your account may call us at (870) 612-3400 or (888) 780-8391 to discontinue Overdraft Privilege.

  • If an item is returned because the Available Balance (as defined below) in your account is not sufficient to cover the item and the item is presented for payment again, First Community Bank (“We”) will charge a Returned Item Fee each time we return the item because it exceeds the Available Balance in your account. Because we may charge a Returned Item Fee each time an item is presented, we may charge you more than one fee for any given item as a result of a returned item and re-presentment of the item. When we charge a Returned Item Fee, the charge reduces the Available Balance in your account and may put your account into (or further into) overdraft. If, on re-presentment of the item, the Available Balance in your account is sufficient to cover the item we may pay the item, and, if payment causes an overdraft, charge an Overdraft Fee. We may use the terms “item” and “transaction” interchangeably.

  • This describes the posting order for purposes of determining overdrafts. Our general policy is to post items throughout the day and to post ACH credits before debits. Checks and ACH transactions are posted from lowest to highest dollar amount, ATM and debit card transactions post in the order they are received; however, because of the many ways we allow you to access your account, the posting order of individual items may differ from these general policies. Holds on funds (described herein) and the order in which transactions are posted may impact the total amount of Overdraft Fees or Returned Item Fees assessed.

  •  Overdraft Privilege is not a Line of Credit or Loan Reserve; it is a discretionary overdraft service that can be withdrawn at any time without prior notice.

  • Depositor and each Authorized Signatory will continue to be liable, jointly and severally, for all overdraft and fee amounts, as described in the Deposit Account Agreement and Disclosure. The total (negative) balance, including all fees and charges, is due and payable upon demand.

  •  We may be obligated to pay some debit card transactions that are not authorized through the payment system but which we are required to pay due to the payment system rules, and as a result you may incur fees if such transactions overdraw your account. However, we will not authorize debit card or ATM transactions unless your account’s Available Balance (including Overdraft Coverage Options) is sufficient to cover the transactions and any fee(s).

  • Giving us your consent to pay everyday debit card and ATM overdrafts on your consumer account (Extended Coverage) may result in you incurring Overdraft Fees for transactions that we would otherwise be required to pay without assessing an Overdraft Fee. However, this would allow us to authorize transactions up to the amount of your Overdraft Privilege limit. If you consent to Extended Coverage on your consumer account, it will remain on your account until it is otherwise withdrawn.

 

Understanding your Available Balance: Your account has two kinds of balances: the Ledger Balance and the Available Balance.


  •  We authorize and pay transactions using the Available Balance.

  •  Your Ledger Balance reflects the full amount of all deposits to your account as well as payment transactions that have been posted to your account. It does not reflect checks you have written and are still outstanding or transactions that have been authorized but are still pending.

  • Your Available Balance is the amount available to you to use for purchases, withdrawals, or to cover transactions. The Available Balance is your Ledger Balance, less any holds due to pending debit card transactions and holds on deposited funds.

  • The balance used for authorizing checks, ACH items, and recurring debit card transactions is your Available Balance plus the amount of the Overdraft Privilege limit and any available Overdraft Protection.


  •  The balance used for authorizing ATM and everyday debit card transactions on accounts with Extended Coverage is your Available Balance plus any available Overdraft Protection and includes the Overdraft Privilege limit.

  • Because your Available Balance reflects pending transactions and debit holds, your balance may appear to cover a transaction but later upon settlement it may not be sufficient to cover such transaction. In such cases, the transaction may further overdraw your account and be subject to additional overdraft fees. You should assume that any item which would overdraw your account based on your Available Balance may create an overdraft. Note that we may place a hold on deposited funds in accordance with our Deposit Account Agreement and Disclosure, which will reduce the amount in your Available Balance.

  • Please be aware that the Overdraft Privilege amount is not included in your Available Balance provided through online banking, mobile banking or First Community Bank’s ATMs.

  • We will place a hold on your account for any authorized debit card transaction until the transaction settles (usually within two business days) or as permitted by payment system rules. In some cases, the hold may exceed the amount of the transaction. When the hold ends, the funds will be added to the Available Balance in your account. If your account is overdrawn after the held funds are added to the Available Balance and the transaction is posted to the Available Balance, an Overdraft Fee may be assessed.

  • Except as described herein, we will not pay items if the Available Balance in your account (including the Overdraft Privilege limit, if applicable) is not sufficient to cover the item(s) and the amount of any fee(s).

 

Understanding Overdraft Privilege Limits

  • New consumer and business checking accounts will receive a $100 Introductory Overdraft Privilege limit at account opening that will be increased to $500 after 35 days ($700 after 60 days) and in good standing for consumer accounts and to $1,500 after 35 days in good standing for business accounts.

  • Overdraft Privilege may be reduced if you default on any loan or other obligation to us, your account becomes subject to any legal or administrative order or levy, or if you fail to maintain your account in good standing by not bringing your account to a positive balance within 35 days for a minimum of one business day. You must bring your account balance positive for at least one business day to have the full Overdraft Privilege limit reinstated.
