Basic Function:

This position works in the office and is responsible for all contacts coming from the client through the agency to the carriers, including updating the agency and/or carrier systems; does quoting and answers coverage questions as needed, if licensed. Also, markets to carriers at the direction of others. They often work on any service need regardless of client or may work on designated client group. This position must present a quality, professional image for First Community Bank and have the ability and desire to develop and maintain quality customer relationships.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·      Deliver consistent, high-quality service to internal and external customers and maintain strict confidentiality in all matters.

·      Complete training and testing (within 90 days from date of hire) to obtain and maintain state Property & Causality License (if not currently licensed).

·      Process personal line changes and endorsements.

·      Confer with customers and potential customers to obtain complete and accurate information to be used to prepare quotes.

·      Access carrier web sites to input, update client information.

·      Serve as point of contact for policy holders to obtain information regarding policies, beneficiaries, etc.

·      Receive and process customer payments.

·      Interview prospective customers to obtain data about their needsand review any existing coverage.

·      Communicate with existing policy holders to review changing needs and suggest changes in policies.  Developlong term relationships with clients and underwriters.

·      Assist policyholder in the event of a claim.  Monitor claims to ensure they are settled timely and equitably for both the client and company.

·      Promptly and successfully complete all compliance training as determined by the compliance department.

·      Attend department and company meetings/training which may be outside of regularly scheduled work hours.

·      Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

         Excellent customer service skills.

         Ability to multi-task.

         Must always be friendly and willing to provide assist others.

         Ability to cope in a fast paced job environment.

         He/she must be able to critically analyze all situations and solve problems efficiently.

         Willingness to learn new skills and ability to adjust to changes quickly.

         Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and Outlook.

         Familiar in insurance terminology, conditions and generalprocesses.

 

Training and Experience:

      Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; college degree or currently pursuing preferred

      Current P & C insurance license required.
