“Iceland’s Magical Northern Lights” tops the 2024 schedule of events for the First Adventure Travel Club of First Community Bank.

Preview presentations will be held soon for all of the major 2024 tours, which will provide members and guests the opportunity to experience widely divergent travel adventures, including:

“Canyon Country of America’s West,” March 14 - 23, 2024
“A Culinary Journey through New England,” June 15 - 21, 2024
“Iceland’s Magical Northern Lights,” Oct. 24 - Nov. 1, 2024

All of the Travel Club preview receptions will be held in the George Rider Room at the First Community Main Bank at Harrison and St. Louis Streets in Batesville.

“Canyon Country,” a 10-day journey through the natural beauty and famous canyons of the American West, will be previewed at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6.  From the legendary Grand Canyon to the vibrant valleys of Zion, the tour will feature three national parks, America’s most beautiful landscapes and a world of colorful vistas.  Guests will shop in Sedona’s unique markets, relax while overlooking the stunning Lake Powell, enjoy rafting down the Colorado River, and complete the exploits in the neon-lit spectacle of Las Vegas.

“A Culinary Journey through New England,” a six-day exploration of the food, culture and history of four New England states, will be presented at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5.  The tour, which will begin and end in Boston, will feature a Lobster Pulling cruise in Maine, visits to Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and a cheese-making factory in Vermont; a Colonial culinary program at historic Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts; and a program on oyster farming in Rhode Island.  Meals will include a lobster dinner, freshly shucked oysters and more regional delicacies.

“Iceland’s Magical Northern Lights,” a nine-day excursion of a land and culture forged by fire and ice, will be previewed at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17.  Travelers will discover otherworldly wonders, breathtaking natural beauty, and a land where steaming lava fields and massive glaciers sculpt mountains and valleys, leaving thundering waterfalls and plunging fjords.  This tour will be highlighted by our search for the elusive aurora borealis, one of nature’s most dazzling light displays, while onboard an evening starlit cruise.  The dates of this tour are said to be ideal for viewing the Northern Lights.

The complete 2024 schedule of Travel Club activities is still being finalized and will be announced soon.

Membership in the Adventures First Travel Club is reserved for First Community Bank customers with at least $10,000 in deposit accounts and their guests.
